Description
The hFABP Rapid Quantitative Test provides a fast and accurate means to measure heart-type Fatty Acid Binding Protein (hFABP) — a small, cytoplasmic protein highly specific to cardiac tissue. When myocardial ischemia or injury occurs, hFABP is released into the bloodstream within 1–3 hours, reaching peak levels at 6–8 hours and returning to normal within 24–30 hours.
Because of its rapid kinetics, hFABP serves as an early and sensitive biomarker for acute myocardial infarction (AMI), detecting cardiac damage well before traditional markers like CK-MB or Troponin. Beyond cardiology, hFABP is also valuable for evaluating brain injury, nervous system diseases, carbon monoxide poisoning, and treatment effectiveness in related conditions.
The Biotime hFABP test kit offers high analytical sensitivity, a minimal sample requirement (10μL), and 15-minute turnaround time, making it ideal for emergency, ICU, cardiology, and laboratory settings where rapid decision-making is critical.
