Description
The Biotime TES Rapid Quantitative Test is a specialized diagnostic assay for the quantitative detection of testosterone (17β-hydroxyandrost-4-en-3-one) in human serum. Testosterone, the principal male sex hormone, is synthesized primarily by Leydig cells in the testes, and in smaller amounts by the ovaries and adrenal glands.
As a key anabolic steroid, testosterone regulates the development of male reproductive tissues, secondary sexual characteristics, muscle and bone mass, and overall vitality. Accurate measurement of testosterone levels is essential for diagnosing reproductive and endocrine disorders in both men and women.
Designed for use on Biotime’s Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) platform, this rapid assay delivers precise and reliable results within 10 minutes using minimal sample volume. It supports clinical decision-making in endocrinology, andrology, reproductive health, and general laboratory applications.
