Description
The D-Dimer Rapid Quantitative Test is a precise and efficient diagnostic tool used to detect fibrin degradation products (FDPs) in blood, which are generated when a blood clot is broken down through fibrinolysis. Under normal physiological conditions, D-Dimer is not detectable in plasma; its presence indicates active coagulation and fibrinolysis, suggesting possible thrombotic disorders.
This test is particularly useful for excluding thromboembolic diseases such as DVT, PE, and disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) when clinical probability is low. It can also be used for monitoring thrombolytic therapy and for supportive diagnosis in patients with coagulation abnormalities due to myocardial infarction, cerebral infarction, surgery, cancer, or infection.
With a reaction time of only 3 minutes, minimal sample volume, and compatibility with whole blood (80 μL) or plasma (50 μL), this test offers a rapid, convenient, and reliable solution for critical care environments.
