Description
The Biotime β-HCG Rapid Quantitative Test is a fluorescence immunoassay designed for the quantitative measurement of β-human chorionic gonadotropin (β-HCG) in human serum or plasma. Human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) is a glycoprotein hormone secreted by placental trophoblast cells, essential for maintaining the corpus luteum and preventing maternal immune rejection of the embryo.
HCG is composed of α and β subunits, with the β subunit used as a specific marker for quantitative measurement. The concentration of β-HCG significantly changes throughout pregnancy, making it an essential biomarker for diagnosing early pregnancy, ectopic pregnancies, trophoblastic diseases, and assessing fetal development.
This rapid test delivers results within 10 minutes and offers a wide detection range (5–200,000 mIU/mL), eliminating the need for dilution while avoiding false negatives due to the hook effect. It provides clinicians with a reliable and efficient solution for pregnancy-related testing in laboratories, outpatient settings, and reproductive health centers.
